Andrew J. Eisenberg is Associate Professor of Music at NYU Abu Dhabi, and Global Network Associate Professor of Music at NYU New York. His research on music and sonic culture in urban Kenya appears in a variety of scholarly journals and edited volumes, including the recent open-access volume Music and Digital Media: A Planetary Anthropology.
He is one of the founders of NYU Abu Dhabi’s Music and Sound Cultures research group, which develops hybrid methodologies blending computational and humanistic approaches for the understanding of the music from the Gulf, East Africa, and India.
